GYMKHANA.

The University and Historic centre of Alcala de Henares were added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1998. The reason being Alcalá was the first city in the world to be designed exclusively as the seat of a university and thus served as a model across Europe and the Americas. Not only did it materialise the idea of the Civitas Dei but it also contributed largely to the humanities and to the Spanish language. It is also the birthplace of Miguel de Cervantes, the creator of Don Quixote.

With some of the examples of its past glory still standing Alcalá de Henares is worth a detailed visit. If you are visiting Alcalá de Henares and you have a few hours to spare, we invite you to try the gymkhana Laura Gutierrez and Elena López created for our participants in which you will learn some historical and amusing facts.  Just click on the buttons to download the questions and the answers.
